Gattuso reveals working philosophy

Gennaro Gattuso is working to prepare for the 2022/23 season, and the new coach explained to VCF MEDIA some of the keys to his philosophy and work ethic.

History

"The priority is history, mentality, family... I like a family atmosphere, which works with a pride in our history. History is history and it cannot be changed."

The centenary of Mestalla

"It means even more responsibility. Normally, the Valencia CF coach always has responsibility. Now, it is even more so. Mestalla is turning 100 and we hope to play good football and to make the fans very happy."

First steps

"The first thing is to talk with the players and also with the staff. The team is not just the players, but everyone who works with us. A team normally have 60 people in a dressing room. The priority is to talk, and for me to explain my mentality well."

"In life, not only in football, if a man doesn't have desire, he can't do anything. The first thing is desire, then sacrifice and values. You must always believe in something."
